[纳米物理与器件重点实验室系列学术报告(127)] Recent advances on first-principles study of Dzyaloshinskii-Moriya interaction at interfaces

Abstract:

The antisymmetric exchange interaction, Dzyaloshnskii-Moriya Interaction (DMI), has become recently a subject of tremendous interest for both fundamental research and applications due to its crucial role in the creation, annihilation and the influence on the dynamics of magnetic Skyrmions and chiral domain walls. Here, I will present a general DMI calculation approach based on DFT total energy calculations. I will address the main features and microscopic mechanism of typical Fert-Levy type DMI at interfaces between ferromagnetic and heavy metals by clearing up several fundamental questions: how does the DMI extend away from the interface? Where is the corresponding electronic energy source located? [1] How to design structures with enhanced DMI? [2,3] Moreover, I will show results at ferromagnet/graphene interfaces beyond Fert-Levy type DMI [4]. At the end, I will present some new results of DMI and Skyrmion study based on 2D ferromagnets. [5]

Brief bio:

杨洪新本科毕业于吉林大学,硕士在吉林大学和中科院物理所联合培养,2012年于法国格勒诺布尔大学获得博士学位,后陆续在巴黎十一大,澳大利亚联邦科学与工业研究中心(CSIRO),法国SPINTEC,法国国家科学中心和泰雷兹联合物理实验室,以及日本国立材料研究所(NIMS)从事科学研究工作,2016年获中组部青年千人计划支持,17年加入宁波材料所,创建量子功能材料团队,团队现有3名研究员、8名博后等共30余人。

  研究兴趣主要集中在表面界面自旋电子学的理论计算研究,已在Nature Materials,Nature Nanotech.,PRL,Nano Lett.,Advanced Materials等杂志上发表论文50余篇,在垂直磁各向异性、拓扑磁结构机理研究、自旋霍尔效应以及石墨烯自旋电子学等领域都有文章入选ESI高引论文。Nature等杂志审稿人。
