Abstract:
This talk presents a unified theoretical framework for entanglement distillation and quantum repeaters, forming a foundation for scalable and fault-tolerant quantum networks. I will first introduce stabilizer entanglement distillation [1], which connects entanglement distillation directly to stabilizer quantum error correction, unifying previous approaches and guiding the systematic design of improved protocols. Building on this framework, I will present a measurement-based quantum repeater architecture that relies solely on locally prepared graph states and Bell measurements [2], greatly reducing circuit complexity and resource overhead. When implemented with quantum low-density parity-check (QLDPC) codes, the repeater achieves constant-rate, fault-tolerant Bell state distribution over arbitrary distances—a key step toward scalable quantum networks.
