报告摘要: Quantum internet is a network connecting spatially separated quantum computing nodes.  Superconducting qubits are one of the most promising technologies for delivering a quantum computer on a chip as a quantum node. Linking remotely distant superconducting chips via an optical data bus thus opens the door for a quantum internet. Two feasible protocols for quantum interface will be presented. The hybrid quantum interfaces can interconvert quantum information from superconducting qubits to photons in optical cavities with high fidelity within a node. Through optical fiber linking different nodes, quantum information can be transferred between distant superconducting qubits.

报告人简介:Dr. Keyu Xia was awarded his doctor degree of optics by Shanghai Institute of Optics and Fine Mechanics (SIOM), Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS), in 2007. Then he went to Germany and joined Prof Christoph H. Keitel and A/Prof Joerg Evers's group in Max-Planck-Institute for Nuclear Physics (MPIK) in Heidelberg. He was working on quantum optics and quantum information in the group until 2011. Since Jan 2011, he was invited to join Prof M. Suhail Zubairy's group and studied optical nonreciprocity. In the second half of 2011, he won a research fellowship from Australian Research council and joined Prof Jason Twamley's group in ARC centre of Engineered Quantum Systems (EQuS) at Macquarie University in October. Currently, he is mainly researching on hybrid quantum interface, quantum network and quantum measurement. His research interest also includes general quantum optics, cavity QED, optomechanism and metamaterial. Some of his papers have been published on PRL and PRX et al..
