题目: [先材论坛(32期)] Electrolyte and Interfacial Engineering for Aqueous Zn Metal Batteries

报告摘要:

Multivalent-metal anodes, such as aluminum, zinc, magnesium, and calcium, are very attractive owing to their high theoretical capacity, natural abundance, and high safety. However, electrochemical performance and stability of multivalent-metal anodes are also deteriorated due to Zn dendrite formation, corrosion, and hydrogen evolution reaction in aqueous electrolytes. In this talk, I will introduce our recent progress on the electrolyte additives, polymeric electrolytes, and the associated interfacial engineering for reversible Zn metal anodes. Firstly, I will address the design guideline of electrolyte formulation that can modulate solvation structures, interfacial chemistry, and EDL structures. Secondly, a new concept of electrolyte additives including localized high concentration electrolytes through a molecular engineering and bioinspired isomeric additives will be introduced. Finally, mechanically strong and tough ionic liquid gel electrolyte for energy-dense four-electron Zn-I2 full batteries will be introduced.

报告人简介:

Ho Seok Park is the director of Research Center for 2D Elementary Redox Energy Storage (2DRES), a full professor of Chemical Engineering at the Sungkyunkwan University (SKKU), an adjunct professor at the Samsung Advanced Institute for Health Science & Technology (SAIHST), and SKKU Fellow. His current research interests focus on electrochemical energy storage and conversion devices based on 2D and carbon nanomaterials and polymer electrolytes. He has published more than 350 papers in the top journals, including Nature Materials, Joule, Chem. Soc. Rev., etc., and been taking associate and guest editor and editorial board member in the SCI(E) journals of Adv. Energy Mater., InfoMat, and so on. He has been recognized by several awards including the Korean Academy of Science and Technology (KAST) Member, Commendation from Ministry of Science and ICT Minister, EnSM Young Scientist Award, S-OIL Young Scientist Award, National R&D Excellence 100 in 2019, the Scientist of the Month, the LG Yeonam Fellowship, and so on.
